New York City Students Put Their Pencils Down To Strike

Students from the City University of New York (CUNY) took to the streets of Midtown Manhattan, joining the National Students for Justice in Palestine’s call for an International University Strike.

“Over a hundred thousand dead! CUNY, your hands are red!”

The rallying cry echoed outside CUNY’s Central Office, as university students demanded transparency and divestment from American imperialism.

Protesters amplified their calls for the university to disclose its investments and private equity holdings. They alleged the school of partnering with U.S. corporate giants like weapons manufacturer Lockheed Martin and the BlackRock investment firm, who have major financial ties to Israel’s occupation of Palestine.

The students pledged to continue to organize and rally around Palestine until CUNY takes appropriate action.

“Disclose! Divest! We Will Not Stop! We Will Not Rest!”
